Does VERA run payroll?
VERA calculates hours, withholding and deposits for the states it models in full: those with no wage tax and those with a single flat rate. States with bracketed withholding are deliberately not modelled, and VERA says so on the page and in the product rather than producing a confident wrong number. Payroll runs still require your approval.

Hours from the clock
Staff clock in on site. The pay period is built from what was recorded, not from what everyone remembers on Friday afternoon.
Withholding calculated
Tax withholding is worked out against current tables rather than being carried forward from last year's spreadsheet.
Deposits prepared
Direct deposit files come out of the same pay run, so paying people is not a separate exercise in a different system.
